JROTC CADETS PLACE IN McKINNEY CHALLENGE

Granbury
Marine Corps JROTC cadets placed fourth in McKinney High School Lion’s
Challenge, a field meet on October 22, 2016.
The meet was
developed in the spirit of competition and sportsmanship with the intent and
purpose of building unit cohesion and teamwork. Contests included: 1600-meter
relay (while carrying various military equipment), Marine Corps combat fitness
test, pull ups, pushups, sit ups, tire flips, and tug of war.
In individual
contests, Granbury cadets had the following placement:
- 1600-meter Relay: Jacob Carr, Brandon Marriott, Tyler Moreland, Daishia Pratt, third
- Pull Ups: Jacob Carr, Ceigan Jones, Brandon Marriott, Tamara Peters, second
- Tug of War: Ethan Avalos, Victor Gonzalez, Jason
Lambert, Asa Redburn, Falicia Wright, first
“This was a great event for
our PT team,” commented First Sergeant Johnny Rositas. “I’m extremely proud of them and their
accomplishments. We took 29 cadets to the event and I know each cadet was
challenged, and they are looking forward to the next event.”

Plecity, Daishia Pratt, Asa Redburn, Isaiah Snodgrass, Megan Thompson, Kaylie
Webb, Falicia Wright, and Michaela Young.
