The Granbury
Marine Corps JROTC will host Summer Air Rifle Camps on July 17-20, 2017, at
Granbury High School.
This camp is
open to students entering grades 7-9 for the 2017-18 school year, and the
registration fee is $100. There will be three sessions each day for students to
choose from: 8:00-10:00 A.M., 10:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M., and 1:30-3:30 P.M.
The mission of
the camp is to promote air rifle safety and marksmanship training with an
emphasis on youth, according to Senior Marine Instructor Lt. Col. Scott Casey. “Safety is the number one objective during
training,” he said.
Students will
learn the basics of the three positions of air rifle shooting. All equipment and a camp t-shirt will be
provided.
Leading the
camps will be Lt. Col. Casey, First Sergeant Johnny Rositas, and JROTC cadets.
