November 20, 2019 

A local American Legion post presented a $15,000 donation to the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC program during the Granbury ISD school board meeting on November 18, 2019. 

The American Legion’s Joiner-Fitzhugh Post 278 has been a long-time supporter of the Granbury High School program, which has achieved a national championship in air rifle competition and was recently designated a Naval Honor School for the sixth year in a row. 

Presenting the donation were post commander Asa Maddox and second vice-commander Maurice Simpson.  Accepting were students cadets on the battalion leadership staff along with instructors Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas.
