December 10, 2019 

Granbury High School senior Allison Henry, a cadet in the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC, signed a letter of intent to join the rifle team at Murray State University during a ceremony on December 10, 2019, at GHS. 

The Racers compete in NCAA Division I as part of the Ohio Valley Conference.  The college is located in far western Kentucky.  

“We are very happy to have another rifle team member earn a spot on a college team,” commented Lt. Col. Scott Casey, the Senior Marine Instructor and rifle team coach. 

Henry joins teammate Philip Becker in the college ranks.  Becker signed with Ohio State University in November. 

The GHS senior was joined by her parents, Leon Henry and Christina Gilpin, as well as Lt. Col. Casey, First Sergeant Johnny Rositas, rifle team members, family, and friends.
