The Granbury Marine Corps JROTC will host a Future Leaders Camp open to seventh and eighth graders on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Granbury High School.
This free camp will be held from 8:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. and will be lead by current JROTC cadets under the supervision of Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas.
The camp is open to current Granbury ISD seventh and eighth grade male and female students at Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School who would like to enhance their leadership potential. All events are focused on building self-esteem, team building, and leadership skills.
“This one-day leadership experience will develop concrete peer leadership skills that will enable participants to have an immediate impact in their community and school,” commented Lt. Col. Casey. “The camp is active and engaging. There’s very little sitting and listening, and there will be much opportunity for group interaction.
Campers should wear clothes that will be appropriate and comfortable for exercise.
There is no requirement to participate in the JROTC in the future. “Participants will leave the camp ready to take on new challenges,” Casey said.
