Kameron Wells, a freshman cadet in the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC program, has been selected to attend the Summer STEM Program at the United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar during June 2021.
This program is for students considering careers such as coders, game developers, designers, or robotics engineers. The selection process is tough with over 10,000 high school applicants from high schools in all 50 states along with all U.S. territories.
Just 200 students were selected to attend the program based on their applications that required top grades in their classes, a variety of participation in their school, after-school activities in sports and clubs, service in their community, rising leadership responsibilities, and a solid interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics classes or programs.
American Legion Post 278 is assisting with a scholarship to cover the cost of the program.
