MARINE CORPS JROTC CADETS RECEIVE AWARDS

Granbury Marine Corps JROTC cadets from Granbury High School attended an awards ceremony on May 4, 2021.
Local military organizations presented scholarships and cash awards to top cadets:
- American Legion Post 278 Bronze Medal: Donovan Rodriquez for military excellence and Raiden Obina for scholastic excellence (includes $1,000 scholarships)
- American Legion Post 491 Gold and Bronze Medals: senior William Duckett and underclassman Saraah Folsom for military excellence; senior Ashton Arlington and underclassman Kameron Wells for scholastic excellence (seniors received $500 scholarships while underclassmen received $200 scholarships)
- Commander Burns Academic Excellence Award: Kameron Wells (includes a $100 scholarship)
- Daughters of the American Revolution/Elizabeth Crockett Chapter Bronze Medal: Mia Sustaita (includes a $300 scholarship)
- Friends of Memorial Lane Scholarships: William Duckett, Raiden Obina, Donovan Rodriquez ($1,000 scholarships)
- Granbury Marine Corps JROTC Booster Club Scholarship: William Duckett and Donovan Rodriquez ($500 scholarships)
- Marine Corps League/Comanche Peak Detachment – Eagle Award: Raiden Obina (includes $1,000 scholarship)
- Military Officers Association of America JROTC Scholarships: William Duckett and Donovan Rodriquez ($1,000 scholarships)
- Sons of the American Revolution/Brazos Valley Chapter JROTC Bronze Medal: Richard Layland (includes a $300 scholarship)
- Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7835 JROTC Medal: Megan Rubio (includes $100 scholarship)

- American Veterans JROTC Award: Jayden Moorman
- Daedalian Achievement Award: Parker Haydin
- Fort Worth Scottish Rite Award: Alexis De La Pena
- Marine Corps League/Comanche Peak Detachment – Cadet of the Quarter Award: Anthony Garcia
- Military Officers Association of America Medal: Tyler Milligan
- Military Order of the Purple Heart: Ashley Jimenez
- Military Order of the World Wars Bronze Medal: Trinity Streiff
- National Society Daughters of the American Colonists JROTC Award: Cadince McGrath
- National Sojourners JROTC Medal: Daymen Hallock
- Navy League Theodore Roosevelt Medal: Ryan Davila
- Reserve Officer Association Medal: Mason Light
- Texas Society of the U.S. Daughters of 1812 Outstanding Cadet Medal: Alizabeth Nickel
- Women Marines Association Award for Outstanding Cadet: Ashton Arlington
JROTC instructors are Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas.
