MIDDLE SCHOOL BANDS HOSTING OPEN HOUSE FOR FIFTH GRADERS ON APRIL 2
March 10, 2016
Band directors from Acton Middle School and
Granbury Middle School will host an open house and instrument fitting for new band
members on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the AMS and GMS band halls.
The come-and-go events will be 10:00 A.M. until
3:00 P.M. and is open to any fifth grader or other middle school student who
has not yet signed up for band.
“We will work with you and your student to
determine what instrument would be the best fit for them,” commented AMS
director John Morgan and GMS director Michele Kahne. “Always wanting to ensure the highest
likelihood for success, the student’s preferences will weigh heavily in our
decision making. We will also look at
their individual physiology, grades, attendance, and general music aptitude.”
It is not too late for fifth grade or other middle
school students to sign up for the band program. Band directors will be glad to work with
students and parents on their course selections, they said.
