DEASON, ASANTE-WIREDU HONORED BY GRANBURY OPTIMISTS

Granbury High School seniors Cash Deason and Kyla Asante-Wiredu were honored as the Young Texan and the Young Tex-Anne for January 2020 by the Granbury Optimist Club. The two were recognized at the club breakfast on January 14, 2020.

Extracurricular Activities:  GHS football team (captain)

Honors/Awards:  National Honor Society, 1st Team All-District Football (center), 1st Team Academic All-State Football Team

Community Service:  volunteer activities through several organizations and church youth group

Church Activities:  Granbury Church of Christ youth group

College or Future Plans:  attend Texas A&M University to study mechanical engineering

Kyla Asante-Wiredu - Young Tex-Anne

Extracurricular Activities:  GHS Pirate Band (drumline captain), UIL social studies team

Honors/Awards:  National Honor Society, state UIL contestant, member of GHS percussion ensemble performing at Percussive Arts Society International Convention, Outstanding UIL soloist

Job: hostess at Eighteen Ninety Grille & Lounge

College or Future Plans:  attend Occidental College in Los Angeles to study psychology and later attend Yale Law School
