MEATS TEAM JOINS STATE-BOUND FFA STATE JUDGING SQUADS
The Granbury High School
meats judging team is joining five other Granbury FFA teams in advancing to state
judging contests that are a part of the Future Farmers of America’s Career
The meats judging team composed
of Emily Brite, Maclane May, Taylor Phillips, and Sarah Spradlin placed second
at the Area VIII competition on April 16, 2016, at Texas A&M University in
College Station. Spradlin placed third
individually, with Phillips in fifth, Brite in sixth, and May in eighth.
State events will feature top
teams representing each of the ten FFA state areas.
Others teams previously advancing
from area competition are:
Veterinary Science: team
(Samantha Adams, Baylee Baxter, Elizabeth Bell, McKenna Drummer, Caitlin
Hutson), sixth; individual – Samantha Adams, seventh
State competitions will
be: agronomy, entomology and horse teams
– April 22-23 at Texas Tech University; range team – April 21 at Tarleton State
University; meats and vet science teams – April 30 at Texas A&M University.
Agricultural science teachers
are Trey Keys, Chelsea Campbell, Tyler McCoy, and Courtney Overstreet.
