Granbury ISD school board trustees honored several students during its monthly meeting on February 22, 2016.  Also recognized were Mambrino School student council members for leading the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.
AES Spelling Bee
Acton Elementary School fifth grader Spencer Burnfield was recognized for winning the Area Spelling Bee and advancing to the regional competition.  Burnfield (right) is pictured above with AES principal Anna Roe.
History Fair
Several students from Granbury High School, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, and Granbury Middle School were honored for winning Best of Show at the District History Fair:  Peyton Carroll, Leah D’Souza, Jaden Ford, Bryce Leonard, Jackson Ludwig, Austin Lynch, Lillian Myers, and Kyli Purselley .  They are pictured above with GMS principal Pat Yelverton.
GHS engineering teacher Todd Gibson introduced the two F1 in Schools teams who recently placed first and second at the regional contest and are going to Michigan in May for the national-level event.   Members of Affinity and Racing Aces are Caden Baker, Stockton Berryman, Ashley Brooke Boyd, Joslyn Cavitt, Jake Cheyne, Tucker Cole, Kayla Curtis, Cameron Loveless, Christopher McKelvain, Blake Steinmann, Cade Timmons, and Will Warner.
Kendall Carroll and Leslie Price were honored for advancing to the UIL state cross-examination debate contest.  Pictured above are (left to right) GHS debate coach Shyller McGuire and Carroll.  Price is not pictured.
