GRANBURY STUDENTS ADVANCE TO REGION CHOIR

By qualifying for the region choir, thirteen choir students from Granbury High School and one from Crossland Ninth Grade Center recently advanced another step toward making the Texas Music Educators Association all-state choirs at auditions held October 13, 2012, at Burleson High School. An additional ten GHS students qualified for the district choir.
 
Choir The students qualifying for the region and district choirs are:
 

Soprano 1: region choir – Tori Townsend; district choir – Deanna Rupp, Crystal Simmons

 

Soprano 2: region choir – Hailey Hart, Natalie Willingham

 

Alto 1:  region choir Makenzie Kane, Sofia Taylor; district choir – Alondra Martinez

 

Alto 2:  region choir – Kiersten Mathis, Eva Murphy; district choir – Ana Gutierrez

 

Tenor 1: region choir – Josh Carpenter, Collin Turney; district choir – Colton Collins, Joel Reid

 

Tenor 2: region choir – Peter Dowd, Chase Whittet; district choir – Ashton Goodson, Kyle Mayes

 

Bass 1:  region choir – Eddie Ramirez; district choir – Dakota Medlin

 

Bass 2: region choir – Cody Bridges, Nate Milson; district choir – Cody Mullican

Collins and Mathis are both freshmen at Crossland.

The pre-area auditions for those making the region choir will be held on Friday, November 16 at Burleson Centennial High School. The district/region choir clinic and concert will follow on Saturday, November 17 in the Weatherford High School auditorium.
