Theater Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center theater arts students will preview their One Act Play performance during an open dress rehearsal on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 6:00 P.M. in the Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center. The public is invited to attend the free performance.

Students will be performing The Diviners, a dramatic play by Jim Leonard Jr. about a disturbed young man and his friendship with a disenchanted preacher in southern Indiana in the early 1930’s.

The cast includes Sheridan Baze, Blake Bergeman, Mandy Brenning, David Broberg, Preston Chapman, Hailey Hart, Kiersten Mathis, Nick Mayes, Brennan Ross, Natalie Willingham, and Bailey Youngs.

Tori Townsend is serving as stage manager with crew members William Black, Baylee Davis, Kyles Mayes, Rachael Periello, Whitney Shearon, and Izzy Woods.

The UIL zone contest will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at Aledo High School. Performing at 10:00 A.M., GHS will be in competition with Aledo, Fort Worth Southwest, and Fort Worth Trimble Tech while Fort Worth Arlington Heights, Fort Worth South Hills, Fort Worth Western Hills, and Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt will compete in a separate zone. Two schools from each zone will advance to the district contest on Wednesday, March 27.

The production is under the direction of GHS theater arts teacher Phil Groeschel, who is assisted by Crossland theater arts teacher Krista Alcorn Holman.
