Trisha Suitt
Trisha Suitt, principal of Nettie Baccus Elementary School, has been named coordinator of federal programs and elementary education in the Granbury ISD curriculum department. Her appointment was approved by the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees during a special meeting on May 6, 2013.

With eighteen years in education, Suitt began her career in 1995 as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Baccus. She returned in 2011 to lead the campus as principal.

A 1987 graduate of Granbury High School, Suitt received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University in 1991. She later earned a Master of Educational Administration from Tarleton State University in 2007.

Suitt will replace Brenda Mabery, who is retiring this summer after 28 years in GISD and 33 years overall in education.

After receiving a degree in elementary education from West Texas State University, Mabery started teaching in 1979 at Glen Rose Junior High School in language arts, reading, and math classes. She returned home for one year to teacher at Bowie Junior High School in Amarillo and then returned to this area in 1984 to pursue a master’s degree at Tarleton State University and to teach in Granbury.
In Granbury, Mabery first taught sixth grade at Granbury Middle School beginning in 1985 and later at Granbury Intermediate School. She moved to Mambrino School when that campus opened in 1997, teaching sixth grade language arts for four years and then serving as instructional specialist for two years. Mabery became the special programs coordinator in the curriculum department in 2003.
