LESLIE TEWELL TO BE BACCUS PRINCIPAL

“Leslie is an energetic, confident leader who has served as an assistant principal in GISD,” stated superintendent Dr. James Largent. “She brings the enthusiasm and leadership qualities that I want when looking for new principals. I have no doubt Leslie will do a great job as the new leader at Baccus.”
Tewell will replace Trisha Suitt, who is moving to the district curriculum department as coordinator for federal programs and elementary instruction.
The new Baccus principal has been at Crossland for the last year. She served in the same role at Oak Woods School beginning in 2006, having first worked there as instructional specialist.
Tewell began her educational career in 2001 as a third grade teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in Euless. In 2004, she came to Granbury as a seventh grade reading teacher and cheerleading sponsor at Acton Middle School.
She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Wesleyan University and later earned a Master of Education in educational leadership from Tarleton State University.
Tewell's husband, Brian, is also in campus administration, serving as assistant principal at Brawner Intermediate School. The couple has two children.
