Three new head coaches will be leading Granbury High School athletic teams beginning in the 2013-14 school year.

Cross country head coach Amber Ward will take the helm of the girls track team and will be in charge of both programs. Assistant coaches moving up are Brad Eppler for baseball and Mallory Smith for softball.

“I truly believe that, if our own people have been great team players and have worked hard, we need to give them the same opportunities that we all got,” stated GISD athletic director Dwight Butler. “I have complete confidence in all three of them, and I am excited about the future of these programs with their leadership.”

The three succeed three departing coaches: Brad Hart (baseball), Chad Kimberling (softball), and Mike Pinkerton (girls track).

Other new athletic staff members will be: Emily Britt, JV girls basketball and girls track assistant; Craig Callihan, GMS teams; Trent Deans, varsity boys soccer assistant; Brandon Duncan, AMS boys teams; Carl Hollums, AMS boys teams; Matt Hurd, GMS boys teams and freshman baseball; Edward Shelstead, varsity girls basketball assistant and girls track assistant; Shanna Shelton, varsity softball assistant; Brock Walker, varsity football assistant and powerlifting assistant.
