The Granbury Marine Corps JROTC was front and center at the Texas Rangers-Houston Astros baseball game on August 20, 2013, at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The team's foundation along with FOX Sports Southwest hosted a benefit during the game to assist with the long-term medical, emotional, and educational needs of victims affected by the deadly storms that tore through Oklahoma and North Texas in May 2013.

Several Granbury residents affected by the tornado as well as numerous Hood County first responders, including Sheriff Roger Deeds, were also recognized at the game. Local participation was organized by the Granbury Chamber of Commerce.

Representing Granbury High School by presenting the colors at the beginning of the game were battalion commander Rebecca Anderson, battalion sergeant major Daniel Alaniz, and cadets Karen McLellan and Valen Webb. Accompanying the students were JROTC instructors Lt. Col. Scott Casey and First Sergeant Johnny Rositas along with chamber president Mike Scott.
