JROTC HOLDS CADET PROMOTION CEREMONY

The Marine Corps JROTC at Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center held a quarterly promotion ceremony on October 15, 2013.
More than forty cadets were promoted to the next higher rank during the ceremony held after school. This was the largest group of cadets to be promoted at one time within the last four years.
In order to be promoted to the next rank, cadets are required to pass all of their classes during the promotion period and uphold the standards set forth by the program. The rank structure is similar to that of the United States Marine Corps, which includes enlisted and officer ranks.
“I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of all of the cadets in the program and look forward to mentoring the newly promoted leaders,” commented Lt. Col. Scott Casey, the Senior Marine Instructor.
The Granbury unit has its highest membership in several years with 117 cadets participating in the program.
