CHOIR STUDENTS PERFORM AT REGION AND DISTRICT CONCERT

GHS Choir  

Thirty-four choir students from Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center performed at the All-Region and All-District choir clinic and concert on November 16, 2013, at the Weatherford High School auditorium.

Performing with the region choir were Cody Bridges, Baylee Davis, Brynn Deger, Makenzie Kane, Alondra Martinez, Kiersten Mathis, Dakota Medlin, Kaitlyn Meinershagen, Cody Mullican, Kendon Parker, Taunton Puckett, Edward Ramirez, Joel Reid, Deanna Rupp, Sofia Taylor, Mercy Whites, and Zach Zagrocki.

District choir members performing were Nicholas Barrett, April Cabrera, Colton Collins, Kaylynn Fehrer, Jamie Garcia, Cesar Gutierrez, Mark Hartgraves, Clarissa Jackson, Katrice Johnson, Kellan Jones, Kelly Kollmann, Christopher Lancaster, Erin Pavelick, Nikolai Press, Nicholas Sandelin, Madison Seymore, and Jacob Wheeler.

Clinicians were Dr. Karen Kenaston-French, director of choral studies at the University of Texas at Arlington, for the region choir and Dr. Monte Garrett, director of choral activities at Howard Payne University, for the district choir. GHS graduate Jeremy Bowen, an assistant choir director at Denton Guyer High School, accompanied the region choir.

 

The region choir students will have tryouts in the third round of the all-state choir process on Saturday, November 23 at North Crowley High School.  Those that advance from that stage will travel to Midland on January 11 for the final auditions.
