Granbury FFA  

Future Farmers of America students from Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center recently shined in the Lake Whitney District LDE competition on November 13, 2013, in Cleburne.

The Granbury FFA advanced five teams and won third overall in sweepstakes.

Advancing to the Area VIII contest on November 23 at Robinson High School are teams in Agricultural Issues Forum, Agricultural Advocacy, FFA Quiz – Senior Level, Chapter Conducting – Junior Level, and FFA Quiz – Junior Level. The first three earned first place at the district competition, while the latter two placed second.

Through Leadership Development Events, team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms. Students demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication, and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization.

Competing were FFA members Balie Ashmore, Blake Barker, Chase Baker, Megan Baker, Colten Bison, Alyx Bradley, Macey Burch, Landon Butler, Haley Deck, Luke Elliott, Cash Firm, Damon Franks, Nick Grant, Courtney Heathington, EB Hull, Sean Keys, Sidney Knowles, Dallis McCullom, Maddie Miller, Alex Myers, Sam Pence, Taylor Phillips, Hunter Pruitt, Dillon Pugh, Ethan Rains, Ty Robertson, Jose Rodriguez, Sam Spradlin, Sarah Spradlin, Savanna Shelnutt, Dane Temple, Katie Tull, Ben Valles, Emmelee Whitefield, and Kena Williams.
