Ty Robertson, a Granbury FFA officer, was a big winner at the Junior Agricultural Mechanics Projects Show, a competition at the Fort Worth Stock Show, on January 18-20, 2014.
A Granbury High School senior, Robertson restored a hitch wagon from the ground up. The wagon was used as a primary tool in the 1800’s as a way of hauling firemen, hoses, and other equipment to and from fires.
The project began in late July, when Robertson traveled to South Dakota to purchase the more than 100-year-old wagon he used for the project. The substantial renovation that included hours of work culminated in a white wagon emblazoned with “F.W.F.D.” across its side.
Robertson’s father, Homer, is Fort Worth Fire Department captain with over thirty years of service.
In addition to his leadership role with the Granbury FFA, Robertson also serves an Area VIII officer. His next stop with his project will be the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo on February 18-20.
