Granbury ISD secondary schools and students are hosting a Teen Health Fair from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at the Granbury Resort Conference Center.
The fair is open to all parents and students attending Granbury High School, STARS Accelerated High School, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, Acton Middle School, and Granbury Middle School.
The idea for the fair emerged from students in project based learning activities. Students in science classes will be make presentations related to their projects. In addition, GHS career and technical education students will be attending to provide and discuss information related to health and safety.
Students and parents will have the opportunity to learn and to receive information about health and fitness, safety, substance abuse, and dating and relationships.
Among community groups participating are the Brazos Pregnancy Clinic, Green Apple Therapy, Hood County Substance Abuse Council, Hood County YMCA, Lake Granbury Medical Center, Mission Granbury, Officer Jeff Hastings and Ben, Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center, Pecan Valley Centers, Ruth’s Place, STAR Council, Starry Counseling, State Trooper Dub Gillum, and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
Door prizes will be awarded to attendees, and snacks and drinks will be provided.
