GRANBURY ISD RECOGNIZES EMPLOYEES FOR SAFETY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY

“These individuals led the school district in safety consciousness and energy efficiency through commitment, dedication, and team work. Their efforts help the district save thousands of dollars as well as keep students and employees safe,” stated Facilities Director Randy Leach.
Shining Star awards were given to four employees for being accident free for ten years. They were: Maria Guzman, Administration custodian; Linda Hall, Maintenance Department secretary; Warren Little, Crossland Ninth Grade Center custodian; and Don Zimmerman, Maintenance Department carpenter.
Four campuses were recognized for being accident free. The principals receiving the recognition were: Biff Peterson, Behavior Transition Center; Diane Fullerton, Granbury Middle School; Donnie Cody, Oak Woods Intermediate School; and Edwin Young, STARS Academy.
Custodians and child nutrition managers also received safety award for being accident-free. The custodians were: Dale Mask, Acton Elementary School; Dewaine James, Administration; Marie Mills, Crossland Ninth Grade Center; Silvia Trevino, Emma Roberson Elementary School; Randall Butler, Granbury Middle School; Alice Casey, Mambrino School; and Bobbie Ellingson, Oak Woods Intermediate School. Child nutrition managers recognized were: Brenda Callahan, Acton Elementary School; Melissa Porter, Acton Middle School; Stacy Cummings, Brawner Intermediate School; Theresa Daily, Crossland Ninth Grade Center; Kathy Sheeley, Granbury Middle School; Jan Gilheany, Mambrino School; and Brenda Bair, Oak Woods Intermediate School.
For energy efficiency, two campuses were recognized. Oak Woods Intermediate School principal Donnie Cody and lead custodian Bobbie Ellingson received first place for electrical savings totaling $4,525 compared to the 2007-08 school year. Second place went to Acton Middle School principal Jimmy Dawson and lead custodian Thomas Robbins. The savings at AMS was $3,857.
