LADY PIRATES RECEIVE SOFTBALL TEAM AWARDS

Lady Pirate softball players received team awards during a banquet held May 24, 2011, at the GISD Bridge Street Conference Center.

Head coach Chad Kimberling announced several team awards:

 

  • Most Valuable Player:  Brittany Acosta
  • Offensive Player of the Year:  Bailey Spencer
  • Co-Defensive Players of the Year:  Sydney Gibson, Bailey Spencer
  • Fighting Pirate Award:  Sydney Gibson
  • Most Improved Player:  Bailey Cole

Academic All-District recognition went to Brittany Acosta, Sydney Gibson, Catherine Matthews, Maddison Mott, Maci Samuelson, and Shelby Tipton.  Eligible for Academic All-State are Acosta, Matthews, and Tipton, with those honors to be announced by the Texas Girls Coaches Association following the state softball tournament.
