GRADUATION HELD FOR GHS CLASS OF 2011

Granbury High School held commencement exercises for the Class of 2011 on May 27, 2011, at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

 

Principal Jeremy Ross presented the graduates to the Board of Trustees.  Diplomas were presented by school board members:  Charlie Cloud, president; Micky Shearon, vice president; Mark Jackson, secretary; Nancy Alana; Dr. Barbara Herrington; B.J. Wallace; and Don Walton.  Each senior was congratulated by Ross and superintendent Ron Mayfield.

 

As the top two students in the graduating class, valedictorian Mackenzie Krone and salutatorian Morgan Kirpatrick each delivered an address.  Senior class president Chance Wilhite also spoke on behalf of the seniors.

 

The remaining students in the top ten of the class were recognized by Ross:  Ryan Luedeker, Hayden Meek, Elise Decker, Bret Roper, Ben Evart, Falan Fish, Jill Young, and Cory Ziegler.

 

Other class officers and student council officers participated in the program and were part of the stage party.  The other class officers were:  Danielle Cullison, vice president; Crystal Wong, secretary; and Courtney Coker, treasurer.  Student Council officers participating were:  Jill Young, vice president; Lindsey Zamudio, secretary; Caitlan Whitefield, historian; and Brittney Lopez, spirit coordinator.  Also participating was Hispanic Club president Brianda Hernandez.

 

All-State choir member Alysia Murphy sang the National Anthem, and all senior choir members performed “Sure on This Shining Night.”  The GHS Pirate Band provided music for the processional and recessional as well as the School Song and Fight Song – the latter two led by senior drum majors Kim Gomez and Hayden Meek.  The school’s Marine Corps JROTC color guard presented the colors.
