GHS CHOIR PERFORMS AT PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE BENEFIT

The Granbury High School Choir performed alongside the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra at a concert on November 13, 2011, to benefit People Helping People.

 

Held at Acton United Methodist Church, the Music at Acton concert included the combined group performing Mozart’s Coronation Mass under the direction of GHS choir director Greg Doss.

 

The piece featured solos by GHS choir director Joy Hope, soprano; Cleburne Smith Middle School director Erin Walter, alto; University of Texas at Arlington choral student Nicholas Garza, tenor; and Acton Middle School choir director Bob Peacock, baritone.

 

Under the direction of Dr. Kurt Sprenger, the orchestra also performed “Gayne” by Khachaturian, “Violin Concerto” by Tchaikovsky, and “Polevetsian Dance” by Rimsky Korsakov.  The concerto featured violin soloist Swang Lin.

 

People Helping People is a local charitable organization that provides assistance to families and individuals in need.
