BRAWNER RUNNERS HIT 100 MILES
Seven students at Brawner Intermediate School were rewarded for hitting an important fitness milestone through the Miler’s Club in physical education class.
Rigo Aguilar Cabrera, Peyton Fletemeyer, Ryan Morales, Brannon Roberts, Daniel D’Souza, Crystalangeline Torres, and Blake Wann all passed the 100-mile mark. The students received t-shirts provided by Lake Granbury Kiwanis Club during a morning assembly on January 25, 2012. On the front of the shirt is the slogan “At Brawner Lightening Strikes.”
Through the Miler’s Clubs at elementary and intermediate campuses, students are challenged to run or walk miles on the school track and then are recognized when they complete certain distance benchmarks.
Altogether, Brawner students have run or walked over 13,000 this school year. PE teacher Patty Phillips encouraged the students to remain active even during cold weather.
