GRANBURY BANDS AND CHOIRS HOLDING PRE-UIL CONCERTS

Granbury school bands and choirs are busy preparing for UIL concert and sightreading contests scheduled for March and April 2012. Preview performances for parents and the public are set prior to the competitions.
The groups from Granbury High School, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, Acton Middle School, and Granbury Middle School are holding concerts to give parents an opportunity to hear the programs as well as to give students experience performing before a live audience.
GHS and Crossland choirs will be in concert on Thursday, March 29 at 7:00 P.M. Then, all bands from the high school and middle schools will hold their performances on Tuesday, April 3 beginning at 6:00 P.M. Both concerts will be held in the GHS Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center.
AMS and GMS seventh and eighth grade choirs previewed their performances on February 28.
The competitions will follow: middle school choirs – March 6 at Aledo High School; high school choirs – April 10-12 at GHS; and middle school bands – April 11-12 at Burleson High School; high school bands – April 17-19 at Burleson High School.
Choir students are under the direction of: GHS – Joy Hope and Greg Doss; Crossland and GMS – Randall Walters and Cathy Terrel; AMS – Christine Bridges and Bob Peacock. Band directors are: GHS – Mark Eastin and Tahlequah Kirk; AMS – John Morgan and Scott Johnson; GMS – Tim Stevens and Roger Ramsey.
