PIRATES WIN FOURTH-STRAIGHT DISTRICT SOCCER TITLE
March 21, 2012

The Pirate soccer team won the District 15-4A title and is advancing to the Class 4A post-season for the fourth consecutive year.
The boys finished the district season in first place with a record of 7-1 (15-1-1 overall). The single loss came during a shootout versus the Cleburne Yellow Jackets on March 20, 2012. The team also clinched the top seed for the playoffs among district teams, which also include Alvarado, Cleburne, Joshua, and Venus.
The Pirates will next play in the bi-district playoff round. Details are still pending.
Pirate varsity players are Scott Baker, ChristianCarnes, Erick Espinosa, Dylan Francis, Erick Garcia, Aaron Gentry, Shaun Gomez, Taylor Green, Ryan Hammonds, Edgar Hernandez, Michael Horn, Tyler McKenzie, Julio Moreno, Zach Oakley, Zach Payne, J.P. Perriello, Matt Rose, Thomas Schloeman, and Patrick Vasquez.
Head coach Doug Kissinger is assisted by William Freeman, Ryan Ellis, and athletic trainer Andy Rankin.
