Lady Pirate Bailey Spencer has been named to the All-State softball team for Class 4A and 5A players by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. The announcement was made during the UIL state softball tournament on May 30-June 2, 2012.

Spencer, who just graduated from Granbury High School, was a stand-out on the high school team.

A four-year varsity letterman, Spencer set school records during the 2012 season with a .627 batting average, .672 on-base percentage, 9 home runs, and 39 RBIs, according to head coach Chad Kimberling.

This year, she was named District 7-4A offensive player of the year as well as the team’s most valuable player. She received first-team all-district honors as a junior in 2011, when she was also the Lady Pirate offensive player of the year and co-defensive player of the year.

She will be continuing her education and playing career at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus. The Lady Pioneers compete in Region 2 of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
