GHS STUDENTS, BRAWNER TEACHER RECOGNIZED AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Several Granbury High School students and a Brawner Intermediate School teacher were recognized at the Granbury ISD school board meeting June 18, 2012.
The GHS accounting team was honored for winning the school’s third consecutive state championship at the UIL state academic meet. Pictured are (left to right) coach Connie Stone, Evangelina Oviedo, Connor Hammond, assistant principal Roger Arbabi, Quade Gibson, Kyle Shanahan, superintendent Ron Mayfield.
Also at the state academic competition, Kelly Burns placed fourth in editorial writing. Pictured are (left to right) coach Linda Stewart, Burns, and Arbabi.
Jana Jimenez, a fifth grade teacher at Brawner, was honored for receiving the Mirabeau B. Lamar Award from the Granbury Masonic Lodge No. 392. Pictured are Jimenez (left) with principal Stacie Brown.
Also recognized but unable to attend were Stefanie Mundhenk, who won second in Lincoln-Douglas debate at the UIL state meet, and Stephen Carver, who won the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation’s state school bus safety speech contest.
