TWO GRANBURY HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AS OUTSTANDING SOLOISTS AT STATE CONTEST
June 13, 2007
Two choir students from Granbury High School were recently recognized as Outstanding Soloists at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble Contest, which was held in Austin.
Perla Campos (left) and Jennifer Miears were among a select group of students to be selected for the honor. Of the 22,000 contestants, only 220 were named as outstanding soloists. Pictures of both Campos and Miears will be included in the TSSEC Book of Champions.
In a letter to GHS Choir Director Duncan McMahan, contest officials stated, "This achievement is truly a mark of musical excellence. Awards of this nature do not come easily and reflect the efforts of many individuals. Parents, the school, and teachers are to be commended for their contribution to their success."
Campos will be a senior in the upcoming school year, while Miears will be a junior.
