MAMBRINO SCHOOL PARENTS INVITED TO MEETING REGARDING GAS WELL
February 2, 2007
Mambrino School will hold an informational meeting for parents and the public on the evening of Tuesday, February 6, 2007. The meeting, which will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. in the school library, was called to share information and answer questions regarding the gas drilling adjacent to the school playground.
“Our first and most important concern is for the safety of our students and staff,” said Principal Rebecca Johnson, who distributed a letter to parents inviting them to attend the meeting. “We want to give the parents an opportunity to hear about this matter.”
Travis Thompson, a safety inspector from EOG Company, will be present to discuss the issues with parents and other interested members of the public.
According to Granbury ISD Facilities Director Randy Leach, the EOG well site recently passed a safety inspection conducted by the Texas Railroad Commission. It was also determined that the site was located the required legal distance from the school property. EOG has placed an orange vinyl fencing material to separate the property line and drill site.
