 Perla Campos

Caitlin CokeShannon CollinsSix Granbury High School choir students were named Outstanding Soloists at the UIL Texas State Solo-Ensemble Contest.  They were part of a group of seventy-one students from GHS and Crossland Ninth Grade Center who performed at the state competition, which was held on May 26, 2008, in Austin.


The outstanding soloists are:  Perla Campos, “Pieta, Signore!”; Caitlin Coke, “When I Bring to You Colour'd Toys”; Shannon Collins, “Dein Blaues Auge”; Anne Deming, “Chanson Triste”; Noah Hughes, “Gia il sole Anne DemingNoah HughesJennifer Miearsdal Gange”; and Jennifer Miears, “Apres un reve.”  Of the 22,000 musicians who performed at the contest, only 256 students earned the distinguished honor of being recognized as an Outstanding Soloist.


Three other soloists received Division 1 superior ratings.  They are:  Alexis Chastain, “Allerseelen”; Ariel Price, “O komme, holde Sommernacht”; and Rufino Rodriguez, “Non posso disperar.”
