Seabre Pope, a member of the Granbury Lady Pirate swim team, signed a letter of intent to join the college team at the University of North Texas in Denton.  Her signing was held on May 21, 2008, at Granbury High School.

In February, Pope competed at the UIL Swimming & Diving State Championships for the third time.  She was named to the All-State swim team by the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association in 2005, 2007, and 2008.

The GHS senior first competed at the state contest as part of a relay team during her freshman year.  This led to her being named All-American by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association along with teammates Carrie Greene, Xela Steenberge, and Dana Vollmer.

Pope was named District Most Valuable Player in 2007 and also garnered the team’s MVP honors for the last two years.
