Madisson MartinLady Pirate Madisson Martin’s high school volleyball days aren’t quite over.

The Granbury High School senior was selected to play in the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s all-star game.  She will compete on the West team for the game featuring standouts from Class 4A and 5A schools.  The game will be played in July 2011 during the association’s coaching school.

Martin was selected by the TGCA state volleyball committee based on team results, individual stats, and game film.

“I am extremely proud of Madisson for her growth in court leadership and the setter position this season,” commented Lady Pirate head coach Tammy Clark.  “It is going to be a great match with very talented seniors from across the state.”

Clark continued, “This is a great finish to her high school career.  Madisson is very deserving of this high honor.”

Martin was a team leader during the 2010 volleyball season, which saw the Lady Pirates advance to the Class 4A regional quarterfinals.  She was selected as the District 7-4A most valuable player and also received Academic All-State honors.

In November, Martin signed a letter of intent to join the college team at Lamar University, a NCAA Division I school in Beaumont.  She will receive a full scholarship to play for the Lady Cardinals, who compete in the Southland Conference.
