A trio of Granbury High School speech and debate team members cleaned up at the South Plains Swing tournaments in Lubbock on December 10-11, 2010.

Winning awards at the tournaments were senior J. Paul Matheny and juniors Stephen Carver and Leah Derrington.  The three placed in the following events: 

Lubbock High School – December 10

 

• Humorous Interpretation:  J. Paul Matheny, third.
• Original Oratory:  Stephen Carver, fourth.
• Poetry Interpretation:  J. Paul Matheny, second.

Lubbock Coronado High School – December 11

 

• Duet Improvisation:  Stephen Carver and Leah Derrington, second.
• Prose Interpretation:  Leah Derrington, fourth; Stephen Carver, eighth.
