GHS BAND MEMBERS MAKE ALL-REGION
Granbury High School Pirate Band members were selected for the All-Region Band during recent tryouts. Two are advancing to the area auditions for a chance to make the All-State Band.
The region tryouts for TMEA Region 7 were held during two phases, with the first on December 6, 2010, at Aledo High School. The second phase, which also included ninth graders, was held on December 11 at Paschal High School in Fort Worth. The region is composed of schools in Fort Worth and extends west to Brownwood and Brady.
GHS students qualifying for the region band were: Hunter Beck, trumpet; Zach Morgan, French horn; Nick Nappier, trumpet; Shannon Rohde, contra bass clarinet; and Sarah Smith, bassoon. Freshmen from Crossland Ninth Grade Center selected were: Ashleen Atchue, oboe; Justin Kochis, percussion; and Chase Rogers, clarinet.
Both Morgan and Smith are advancing to the Area B tryouts scheduled for January 8, 2011, at Midland High School.
