Students from Granbury High School and Crossland Ninth Grade Center were thrilled during an afternoon concert by the Casey Donahew Band on December 6, 2010.
An area radio station, 95.9 FM The Ranch, was looking for spirit among Fort Worth area schools - and GHS had the most.The station's Friday Night Lights Patrol was in town for the Granbury-Everman football game on October 8. Students, staff, and other supporters texted votes to win the contest.
The Burleson-based group performed several songs – including “Back Home in Texas,” “Stockyards,” and “No Doubt” – during the concert held in the James Wann Sports Center.
As part of the promotion, GHS senior Chance Wilhite won a $1000 scholarship.
