March 7, 2023 | Guest Speaker
Acton Middle School held a mini-career day on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, where AVID and college and career readiness students heard a presentation from U.S. Air Force Airmen, Sally Garcia and MSgt Cody Warner.
The students heard about career opportunities available in the U.S. Air Force while also learning about the overall military structure, officer types, and the different requirements for enlistment, education, and service.
During the presentation, Warner and Garcia encouraged students to dream of the career possibilities awaiting them and inspired them to pursue an education with the best opportunities supporting their dream career.
The guest speakers also focused on character traits as they described the Air Force's three core values: integrity, service before self, and excellence. The speakers emphasized that among all things airmen learn in their career, it is character development that is most important.
